Bristol is set to host professional squash once again, as Workout Harbourside becomes the home of the newly established Bristol Buccaneers. Under the leadership of John Welton, the Buccaneers are joining the inaugural season of the Squash Super League. The Optasia Squash Super League, supported by England Squash and SquashTV, has Joey Barrington playing a pivotal role in driving the partnership. The league format is designed to ensure the highest quality squash for the fans. Each match will be best of 3 games and all on one show court. 1. The best male player 2. The best female player 3. U25 player (3 x women and 3 x men split across the 6 match season) 4. Local legend
The Buccaneers will have 3 home matches in this first season of the SSL Friday 14th February v Coolhurst Cavaliers COOLHURST CAVALIERS - Optasia Squash Super League The Cavaliers boast Kareem Abdel Gawad or Marwan El Shorbagy at one and Hania El Hamamy or Sarah Jane Perry at two!
Friday 21st March v Leamington Royals LEAMINGTON ROYALS - Optasia Squash Super League The Royals squad includes Victor Crouin or Decland James at one and Satomi Watanabe or Salma El Tayeb at two!
Friday 4th April v Chichester Centurions CHICHESTER CENTURIONS - Optasia Squash Super League The centurions have the mighty Paul Coll at one or Jonah Bryant and at number two Rowan El ELARABY or Katie Malliff

WHO ARE THE BUCCANEERS?The Bristol Buccaneers Squash Super League team has been formed to celebrate the rich history of world-class squash in the city of Bristol. In partnership with UWE’s squash program and Elitesquash, we’ve built the squad around UWE Alumni (including Mohamed El Shorbagy, Eain Yow, and Yousef Soliman, along with our legends), current UWE athletes (all under 25), and players with a special connection to the city (like Joelle and Tesni).
